Nathan Sutherland, cofounder of Wasatch Tenkara Rods, brings a unique mix of leadership, discipline, and adventure to the company. A graduate of United States Military Academy and former Army officer, Nathan learned early the importance of preparation, reliability, and staying calm under pressure — values that continue to influence both the company and the gear it creates today.

Beyond his military background, Nathan has spent years around fly fishing and competitive angling, including time on a fly fishing team where presentation, efficiency, and adaptability mattered every day on the water. Those experiences helped shape the Wasatch Tenkara Rods lineup into rods that are lightweight, practical, and built specifically for real fishing conditions — from tiny alpine streams to large rivers and trophy fish.
