"What an amazing rod. This was my first Tenkara rod and I'm glad I went with the Wasatch Tenkara rod. I fish this rod in small & big rivers alike. It does well on both. For wider rivers the T-Hunter is suggested for sure. It will cover more water. Great feel, and great action. I love my Tenkara"
"Bought this because I needed a shorter, yet stout, rod for landing large carp and catfish from my kayak. My Rodzilla works great from the bank but it’s difficult to manage with a large fish in the kayak. My shorter Tenkara rods were too delicate to deal with large carp. The Hankyu works perfect in this situation. I think about 10’ of furled line or 4. 5 level line with about 3’ of 3X tippet works really well with the kayak. So far I’ve landed four carp in the 25” range and two catfish in the 20” range. The rod is stout enough that it can handle a carp towing a kayak around a lake. Sorry no pictures because I haven’t figured out how to manage large fish, a rod, and a cell phone at the same time in a small kayak. The rod is also sensitive enough that it is fun for trout and small panfish. I’m glad Wasatch is making some heavier duty rods that allow some of us to experiment a bit more with fixed line fishing."
"Superior quality, I love it! Owner was very helpful in assisting me with the right rod for my needs. Wasatch is highly recommended!"
"Light, crisp action, love the triple extend option."
"Amazing rod for small creeks. Landed my first (four) Bonneville Cutthroat trout with this rod. The tiny handle is great for flip casts."
"I took my Hankyu Middle Fork out this week on the local pond. It was blast. I landed several fish from 8 to 14 inches. I loved the action and how easy it was to cast, even into the wind. This is a great Rod."
"I’ve been focusing on nymphing /small streamers with a regular fly rod, and recently made the tenkara plunge with Wasatch Hankyu Middle Fork. It has the backbone yet lightness you’d expect of a high quality rod, easy to cast at each length, feels so light at the 9/10 I sometimes forget I’m holding it :) recently caught my first brown trout 11.5in! Rod handled like a dream."
"I bought this rod to be a substitute for my other heavy duty tenkara rod and it definitely does not disappoint. The action is fantastic. It’s easy to use It handles 20 inch plus trout perfectly!"
"I am loving my Middlefork, its the perfect all around for trout fishing. Gentile enough to feel connection with a light nymph, enough backbone for up to 3-4 inch streamers. Keep up the good work WTR Team!"
